It is possible that Jacob's father was Abraham or Abram Chandler [born about 1740 and died 27 July 1811], and that his siblings OR cousins may include Isaac Chandler 1766-1841, Benoni Chandler b. 1773, Absalom Chandler 1776-1856,and Abraham Chandler Jr. 1779-1854. Isaac and Abraham Jr. both have direct male line descendants who test into CHANDLER Y-DNA Group 16.
The evidence for these sibling/cousin relationships are largely circumstancial at this point in time [2025], and the hope is that future research will clarify and solidify these family connections.
There are three other strongly researched Chandler lines that also test into CHANDLER Y-DNA Group 16, but do not descend from Jacob's possible father Abraham.

Mrs. Betsy Sprague, consort of Thomas J. Sprague, departed this life in Butler, at the residence of her son on Monday, November 8th, 1869, aged [?] years. Her maiden name was Chandler, and [her] birth place Onondago county, N. Y. She and [her] husband, who still survives her, early comm[?]ed the life of worthy pioneers, emigrating [?] 1825 to Steuben county, in Western N. Y., then comparatively a wilderness; when after a residence of nine years they again emigrated to Mi[chiga]n near the present city of Adrain. Here they continued to reside till within the past few [wee]ks which they again, in their old age, resumed their Western march to make their abode with their son, one of our fellow citizens, Mr. Chas. Sprague.
Twelve we[ek]s had scarcely elapsed since their coming to Missouri when, on the eve of a well spent life, she was called from scenes earthly to scenes heavenly, there to dwell with the redeemed forever. Her illness (Billious Fever) was born with christian fortitude and patience, with a perfect resignation [t]o the will of "Him who doeth all things well." [Of] her family of five children, but two are [?] who with the bereaved father have the [?] felt sympathy of friends and acquaintances [?] loss of their best earthly friend. The character of Mrs. Sprague was adorned with many virtues and the repeated acts of kindness and charity so often and so well performed by her will live long in the memory of her family and friends. The funeral services took place at the residence of his son Charles, on Fulton street, Wednesday at 1 o'clock, and his remains were interred in Butler cemetery the same afternoon.

Feb 7 - Benjamin F. Chandler, an old and most highly respected resident of the town of Dekalb, died at his farm home one mile from Richville Monday night after a short illness, aged 80 years. Mr. Chandler was born in DeKalb and had always made his home in that town. He was for years a well known horse dealer. He is survived by his widow. The funeral services were conducted from the late home this afternoon and interment was made at Richvilele.
