General Notes: ESTIMATE OF BIRTH DATE: The 1810, 1820, and 1830 census records consistently record a female in the household of Rev. John that is in his age bracket which assume is his wife. This census further brackets her age to be between 70 and 79 in 1830. Her first child as born in 1776. Using all this data, we estimate that Elizabeth was born about 1758.

The Rev. John Chandler did not marry Elizabeth Terrell. Elizabeth Terrell married a different John Chandler on 26 Dec 1791. By that date, The Rev. John and Elizabeth had six children and were living in Wilkes County, GA, or moving to Green County, KY.
The Rev. John Chandler did not marry Elizabeth Shreve. Elizabeth Shreve was the daughter of his Green County, KY neighbor William Shreve. The Rev. John performed the marriage ceremony where Elizabeth Shreve married Scady Chandler in Green County, KY; the Rev. John was 61 years old at the time of Elizabeth Shreve’s marriage.

BIRTH: 1860 census for Adair County, Kentucky, tape 353. The census lists Elizabeth as the head of the household living with her son and his wife and daughter. Elizabeth is recorded as a farmer with Real Estate holdings of $125, and personal property of $700. From this census Elizabeth's birth date as 1801. Abner Bottom was still alive in 1860, and is in the 1870 census but not listed with Elizabeth.

BIRTH-DEATH-NAME: Mark McDonald gives Elizabeth's birth date as circa 1792. He also gives her nickname as Betsy. Mark also provided the death date, but he had a question mark next to it.

BIRTH-DEATH: Terrell G Bottoms gives Elizabeth's birth date as 1777 and her death place as Adair County, Kentucky.

The 1850 Census for Adair County, Kentucky lists Abner Bottoms with Elizabeth age 63, and Elias age 27.
The 1860 Census for Adair County, Kentucky lists Abner Bottoms with the family of William D. Bottoms. The census shows that Abner was born in Virginia.
The 1870 Census lists Abner Bottom as retired and living with James and Julia BOTTOM in Adair County, Kentucky.

FAMILY: The following is from an email from Jerry Bottoms.
Abner and a cousin, Robert Bottom, moved from Mercer County to Green County (Later became Taylor) in early 1800s. These two men had large families and it's not easy seperating who belonged to who.
