From
Dick: “I really want to put you on a good road with your family research, so
I am going to express myself bluntly. You will not get any worthwhile
genealogist to take you seriously if all you do is point them to someone
else’s tree that contains 58,000 people including Julius Caesar born 100 BC
and the Emperor Charlemagne born 742 AD but excluding your own
grandfather and great grandmother! * * * * there is no evidence
to connect the Chandlers who came to America from Wiltshire in England
with any le Chaundeler who came from Normandy . . . There is much for
you to be proud of in your Chandler ancestry, without needing to make
unproven claims.”

There is
probably a kinship connection between Thomas Jefferson Chandler and two other
Chandlers – George W. and Joseph C. Other families – King and
Knighten – were in some of the same places at the same times and may well
also be related. It was suggested that inquirer follow up on these clues.
